While Turner has been superb with the bat, it’s his leadership skills that have earned him applause. Turner is among the most successful captains in the BBL. He has been an influential leader for Perth Scorchers, having taken them to two titles.

Turner became Perth Scorchers’ full-time captain in 2018. He carried forward the legacy left by his predecessors and added two trophies to the Scorchers’ cabinet.
Thus far, the Scorchers have made it to the knockouts in four seasons, that too in consecutive editions. The first knockout appearance came in the 2020/21 season, where Turner took them into the final.
While the Scorchers couldn’t win the trophy that season, Turner made up for it with two consecutive titles. The Scorchers won the 2021/22 and 2022/23 editions, adding their fourth and fifth BBL titles.
Turner is one of the three captains to win the BBL trophy twice. His 47 wins out of 74 matches already make him the most successful captain for Perth Scorchers.
