A well-known restaurant in Bengaluru, One8 Commune, has been shut down after a court order. The outlet was located near the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and was popular among cricket fans as it was linked to Virat Kohli.
The restaurant was operated by Trio Hills Hospitality. A local court ordered its closure due to unpaid rent and other dues. Reports say the rent was not paid for around six months. Along with this, maintenance charges and revenue sharing payments were also pending.
The total outstanding amount is said to be more than ₹2 crore. Because of this, the court ordered the restaurant to shut down immediately until all payments are cleared.
Key Financial Issues
| Issue | Details |
|---|---|
| Pending Rent | Around 6 months unpaid |
| Maintenance Charges | Not cleared |
| Revenue Sharing | Not paid as agreed |
| Total Dues | Over ₹2 crore |
| Court Action | Immediate shutdown |
Virat Kohli Steps Away from the Brand
Recent updates suggest that Virat Kohli has stepped away from the restaurant business. He has removed his name and branding from One8 Commune.
It is also reported that he is no longer associated with the ownership of the company. There were claims that he asked the management to remove his brand name from the restaurant.
Due to his exit and the business issues, the restaurant saw a drop in customers, which further affected its performance.

Regulatory and Safety Problems
Apart from financial issues, the restaurant also faced several regulatory problems. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike had sent multiple notices for rule violations.
Some of the major concerns included:
- Lack of proper fire safety measures
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) missing from the Fire Department
- Other required approvals not in place
These issues added more pressure on the business and affected its reputation.
Other Legal Issues
The restaurant and related entities have also faced legal trouble in the past. There were cases related to violation of operating hours rules on MG Road in Bengaluru.
The Bengaluru branch of One8 Commune opened in December 2023, but since then, it has been under regular checks by authorities. These ongoing legal matters made it difficult for the business to recover.
Right now, the restaurant remains closed as per the court order. It can only reopen after:
- All pending dues are paid
- Legal issues are resolved
- Required approvals and safety clearances are completed
There has been no official statement from Virat Kohli regarding this situation.
For now, the future of One8 Commune in Bengaluru is uncertain, and everything depends on how quickly the owners can settle the financial and legal matters.
