Pakistan and South Africa share a pretty competitive rivalry in women’s cricket. While South Africa keep the upper hand in women’s ODIs, things are almost even in T20Is.
Pakistan’s women’s T20I series win against South Africa in 2023 is the prime example of it. Or the tied women’s ODI between them in 2019. Pakistan almost ran over South Africa, but Masabata Klaas denied them the winning run to level the scores and the 2019 series (1-1).
In the ICC tournaments, South Africa maintain a huge lead over Pakistan. It was in the 2022 Women’s World Cup that Pakistan challenged South Africa a bit more. But South Africa’s bowlers showed their class to beat Pakistan by six runs.
South Africa would like to extend their lead when they face Pakistan in the 2025 Women’s World Cup. Pakistan, meanwhile, will aim to go the full distance this time around.
The two teams will meet in the 50-over tournament on October 21, 2025, in Sri Lanka’s Colombo.
