England and Pakistan first played against each other in women’s cricket in 1997. From then till 2009, both sides only met three times, all in ICC events.
But from 2012 onwards, England Women and Pakistan Women have been playing each other more frequently. And, as usual, England have dominated through and through.
They have recorded some of the largest wins against Pakistan, showing the massive gulf between both sides. Take, for instance, their first ODI encounter in 1997, which England won by a massive 230 runs. Cut to 2013, England thrashed Pakistan by a 200-plus run margin in back-to-back ODIs!
The only time Pakistan rejoiced was when they beat England in a closely fought T20I match in 2013. Pakistan sneaked in a victory by the barest of margins of one run!
And the Women in Green would like to pull off such a win when they take on England in the 2025 Women’s World Cup. They will face each other in the 50-over event on October 15, 2025, in Colombo.
