    Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore: Pitch Report

The pitch at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore is generally considered batting-friendly, especially in white-ball cricket. The surface offers good bounce and carry, allowing batters to play attacking strokes freely once they settle in.

Pacers usually get some movement with the new ball during the opening overs, particularly in day-night matches. However, as the match progresses, the wicket becomes easier for batting and run-scoring accelerates in the middle overs.

Spinners also become effective as the pitch slows slightly during the second innings. The dry Lahore surface helps slower bowlers extract grip and turn, making middle overs extremely important in ODI and T20 matches.

Recent ODI matches at Gaddafi Stadium have mostly favored batters, with several 300-plus totals recorded since 2025. At the same time, bowlers using cutters, slower balls, and accurate lengths have also enjoyed success under lights.

The venue has produced balanced contests overall, but teams batting first have historically enjoyed a slight advantage in limited-overs cricket.

Interestingly, teams batting second have recorded more victories than teams batting first, showing that the Lahore wicket generally remains good for batting during the first three innings of a Test match.

Reverse swing and spin bowling usually become decisive late in the game as the pitch begins to wear down and cracks start opening up.
