It was in November 2024 when Miraz first led Bangladesh in international cricket. He stood in for the injured Najmul Hossain Shanto in an ODI against Afghanistan. Then he captained Bangladesh against the West Indies across Tests and ODIs.
In the next six months, Miraz saw his elevation as Bangladesh’s full-time ODI captain. While he is still new to the job, he is determined to bring success to Bangladesh.

Miraz has led Bangladesh in Tests in a stand-in capacity. He filled in for Najmul on their tour of the West Indies in November 2024.

Miraz has had plenty of captaincy stints in Bangladesh’s domestic T20 tournaments. He has led four teams in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) thus far – two in full-time capacity and two in interim.
Miraz has had a decent record as a full-time skipper for Rajshahi Kings and Khulna Tigers in the BPL. He even guided the Tigers to the knockouts in the 2025 season.
