Jaker Ali’s stocks are rising in Bangladesh cricket. What makes him a hot commodity is his aggressive batting style.
Not many Bangladeshi batters play with fearless intent, let alone smash regular sixes. Ali just defies that with his solid ball-striking abilities.
On top of that, he’s also a fine wicketkeeper, providing the full package a team needs, especially in limited-overs cricket.
And now, Ali has also been entrusted with Bangladesh’s captaincy, although in a stand-in capacity. So he’s juggling between batting, wicketkeeping, and leading.
Here you can find Jaker Ali’s captaincy record in international cricket.

Jaker Ali doesn’t have any prior experience in leading a team at any level. But he has stepped up as Bangladesh’s T20I skipper in a few matches.
The first time he led Bangla Tigers was in the absence of Litton Das in the 2025 Asia Cup. While Ali didn’t have a great start, he registered the first win in just his third match as a skipper.
Since Ali is pretty new to captaincy, he needs to find his way around and lead Bangladesh by example in whatever limited opportunities that might come his way.

Jaker Ali has thus far filled in for regular skipper Litton Das in T20Is. His debut captaincy match was in the Asia Cup 2025, which he lost against Pakistan.
A week later, though, Ali fetched his first win as Bangladesh’s skipper. He guided them to a clinical win against Afghanistan in Sharjah.
