Will Sutherland is a fast-bowling all-rounder from Australia. While he hasn’t yet cemented himself at the international level, he is an established domestic player for Victoria.
In the Big Bash League (BBL), Sutherland plies his trade for Melbourne Renegades. He has been with the Renegades since the 2018/19 season. And now, after consistent performances, Sutherland has also been calling the shots.

Sutherland has been at the helm of Melbourne Renegades since the 2023/24 season. He replaced Nic Maddinson midway through the season.

While Sutherland couldn’t make a drastic turnaround, the Renegades ended the season with two wins under his leadership. The 2024/25 season was slightly better, as Sutherland managed to win four of the 10 matches.
Although Sutherland’s numbers as captain aren’t great, he has shown potential to take the Renegades to the ultimate goal.
