Alyssa Healy became Australia’s permanent captain across formats in late 2023. But she had previously led the team in several series in the absence of Meg Lanning.
Before the full-time captaincy job, Healy led Australia for the first time in December 2022. Then it was in the second half of 2023 when she became the interim skipper before the full-time opportunity came towards the end of the year.

Healy has had a few stints in prominent women’s T20 leagues. The first of her stints came in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) when she led Sydney Sixers in eight matches between 2017 and 2019.
