The men’s Asia Cup will return in 2025. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has earmarked the continental cricket tournament for September 2025.
This will be the third time the Asia Cup will have the T20I format in place. The last two T20 Asia Cups happened in 2016 and 2022, with India and Sri Lanka winning them, respectively.
The Asia Cup 2025 starts on September 9, with Afghanistan and Hong Kong locked in for the tournament opener. In all, eight Asian teams, split into two groups, will be in the hunt to become the Asian champions.
India, Oman, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are part of Group A. Group B features Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka.
The Asia Cup 2025 follows a round-robin format. First, the teams will meet their group opponent once.
Then the top two sides from each group will roll into the Super Four stage. Teams will then face off against each other in the Super Four stage to seal a spot in the final, scheduled on September 28. Overall, 19 matches will be played in the tournament, all in the UAE.
