Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium was opened in 2008. But the venue had to wait for 15 years to host its first international match.
That day arrived in January 2023 when India hosted New Zealand for an ODI match. Since then, Raipur has been hosting multiple international fixtures, including games scheduled for the 2025–26 season.
Before its international debut, the venue hosted several IPL and Champions League T20 matches. The state-of-the-art stadium continues to be a major venue for domestic cricket and now for international cricket as well.

Dew plays a major role at this venue, making chasing easier in evening games. Teams winning the toss often choose to bowl first.
