The Village is a prominent cricket venue in Ireland. It’s one of the few Irish venues that can host international cricket. In fact, most of the international action takes place here.
The Malahide Cricket Club has been the owner of this Dublin ground since its establishment in 1861. But it was only in 2013 when the venue first hosted an international cricket match.
Since then, the Irish team has hosted opponents here for Test, ODI, and T20I matches. Whenever a prominent clash takes place here, the venue fills to its capacity.
In this article, we’ll look at the pitch report and T20I record at the Village, Dublin (Malahide).

The Village, Dublin (Malahide) Pitch Report
The pitch at the Dublin ground favours batters. And the recent matches played here back the fact.
While bowlers also get some help, they need to hit the right areas on the pitch. The new ball can move around a bit, though it comes onto the bat nicely as the match progresses.
Spinners should find some turn on offer in the middle overs, while pacers can make good use of slower deliveries in this phase. Since most of the matches are day games, dew doesn’t affect the results much.
Teams should prefer to bat first on a fresh wicket and put up big scores to defend them successfully.

But in recent matches, teams preferred to bat first and post a total of around 190-200. Such totals have been defended by teams on many counts.
While the average first innings score is around 163, it won’t be enough to defend, given the pitch is batter-friendly. And the toss won’t play a major role here.
