    1. ITC Limited (1993-2001)

The very first time that the Indian cricket team got recognition was a decade after the glorious moment in the 1983 ODI World Cup. Based in Kolkata, ITC Limited (Wills and ITC Hotels) bagged a nine-year-long sponsor deal with the Indian cricket team.

The deal had a duration starting in June 1993 and lasting until May 2001, valued at INR 35 lakhs per test and INR 32 lakhs per ODI. The deal ended after the Indian government introduced a law for cigarette-to-hotel conglomerates in 2001.

    2. Sahara India (2001-2013)

After the exit of ITC Limited, India saw various recognized brands fighting for the sponsorship rights. Eventually, Sahara India was successful in earning the new deal with the Indian Cricket Team in June 2001. The contract was active until 2013, making it the biggest sponsorship deal for the Indian team.

The contract was renewed in 2010, and the Indian board received an increased amount of INR 3.34 crore for every international game. This tie became so successful that Sahara India also bought an IPL franchise, Pune Warriors India, in 2011. But due to some difference between them and BCCI, they decided to cancel the sponsorship deal and the IPL team in 2013.

    3. Star India (2014-2017)

In 2014, a total of seven prominent business brands fought to get the rights by submitting the tenders, and Star India won the bid for the Indian Cricket Team. The BCCI received a sum of INR 1.92 crore for every international match in bilateral events, while every ICC game was valued at INR 61 lakh. In March 2017, the deal was over, and Star India didn’t renew the deal.

    4. Oppo Mobiles India (2017-2019)

In April 2017, the Chinese mobile brand, Oppo Mobiles, won the team sponsorship rights with the Indian cricket team. It was a record-breaking deal for the BCCI, which was valued at INR 1079 crore.

Oppo mobiles won the contract, surpassing the bid of sister manufacturing company Vivo (INR 768). As per the contract, the BCCI received INR 4.61 crore for every bilateral game and INR 1.51 for an ICC match. However, the deal ran for two years, and Oppo mobiles parted ways in 2019.

    5. Byju’s (2019-2023)

With the sudden exit of Oppo Mobiles, the BCCI bagged a deal with India’s Ed-Tech corporation Byju’s. The contract started in September 2019 with the same value as the previous one with Oppo Mobiles.

The contract got over in March 2022, but Byju’s and BCCI decided to renew it for another year, and eventually, it ended in March 2023, running for a period of three and a half years.

    6. Dream11 (2023-2025)

In March 2023, Byju’s took the exit from sponsorship rights, and it saw the entry of India’s biggest fantasy sports company, Dream11. The contract began in March 2023 for three years, valued at INR 358 crore for 158 international games. The BCCI is receiving INR 4 crore for every bilateral game and INR 1 crore for an ICC match.

    7. Apollo Tyres (2025–2027)

After Dream11’s exit in September 2025, the BCCI confirmed Apollo Tyres as the new jersey sponsor of Team India. This landmark deal runs until 2027 and is valued at ₹4.5 crore per match, which is higher than Dream11’s earlier contract of ₹4 crore per game.

The bidding process saw companies like Canva and JK Tyre in the race, but Apollo Tyres won the rights. This sponsorship ensures Apollo Tyres’ global visibility, with Team India scheduled to play nearly 130 international fixtures until 2027.
