The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided not to include the A+ category in the men’s central contract list for 2026.
The main reason is simple: no Bangladeshi cricketer is currently playing all three formats (Test, ODI, T20I) on a regular basis, which is required for A+ status.
Why Is There No A+ Category This Year?
In recent years, BCB followed a universal grading system with these categories:
- A+
- A
- B
- C
- D
The A+ category was reserved only for players who consistently played all three formats.
According to BCB officials:
- No current player meets this condition
- So, A+ has been removed for 2026
