After wrapping up the home season on a positive note, the West Indies will embark on a series of away tours. The Caribbean side will be travelling extensively through early 2026, playing important bilateral series and preparing for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
They will begin with a short T20I assignment in Afghanistan, followed by a five-match T20I series in South Africa. After that, the team will shift focus to the global event in India and Sri Lanka. Across formats, West Indies have a full and challenging programme for the 2026-27 season.

West Indies vs Afghanistan (3 T20Is): January 2026
The West Indies begin their year with a short T20I tour of Afghanistan. This series serves as early preparation for the T20 cricket-heavy schedule ahead of them in 2026.
West Indies vs South Africa (3 T20Is): January 27–31, 2026
Immediately after the Afghanistan assignment, the Caribbean team will travel to South Africa for a three-match T20I series. All matches will be held under lights.

This rapid series gives the West Indies crucial match practice before entering the T20 World Cup.
ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026: February–March 2026
West Indies are placed in Group C for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. They will play four group matches across Eden Gardens and Wankhede Stadium.

Following the World Cup, West Indies resume bilateral cricket with a home series against Sri Lanka featuring all three formats. This series marks their return to Test cricket after the World Cup season break.
New Zealand Tour of West Indies (3 ODIs, 3 T20Is): July 2026
New Zealand will visit the Caribbean for six white-ball matches. The ODIs will precede the T20I series as both teams prepare for their respective international commitments.
Pakistan Tour of West Indies (2 Tests): July–August 2026
Pakistan will then travel to the West Indies for a two-Test series as part of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle.
West Indies Tour of India (3 ODIs, 5 T20Is): September–October 2026
The Caribbean side will head to India once again, this time for a long white-ball tour consisting of three ODIs and five T20Is. These matches are expected to be high-profile fixtures across major Indian venues.
West Indies Tour of Bangladesh (2 Tests): October–November 2026
West Indies’ final away tour of 2026 will take them to Bangladesh for a two-Test contest. Conditions will test their skill against spin-heavy attacks.
Afghanistan Tour of West Indies (1 Test, 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is): February 2027
The season concludes with Afghanistan touring the Caribbean in early 2027. This multi-format series includes all three formats and gives West Indies a busy start to the new year.
