The SA20 2026 will kick off on December 26, 2025, in South Africa’s Cape Town. This will be the fourth edition of the South African T20 league.
As usual, six teams will participate in this blockbuster league, which runs for a month. MI Cape Town will start their title defence on the opening day, taking on Durban’s Super Giants in the first match. The other four teams will start their campaigns the next day in a double-header.
The league stage will conclude on January 19, 2026, with the final slated for January 25, 2026.

The league stage consists of 30 matches, with the playoffs featuring four matches, including the final. The playoffs will start on January 21, 2026.

SA20 2026: Format
League Stage
The SA20 follows a double round-robin league stage format. So teams will take on each other twice on a home and away basis, playing 10 matches each in the league stage. There will be 30 matches in the league stage.
Playoffs
After the league stage, the top four teams will advance to the playoffs, consisting of four matches. The top two teams will meet each other in Qualifier 1, with the next two teams clashing in the Eliminator.
Qualifier 2 will pit the loser of Qualifier 1 against the winner of the Eliminator to decide the other finalist. The winner between them will then take on the Qualifier 1 winner in the final.
