The Brisbane Cricket Ground is a historic venue in Australia. It’s best known for Australia’s dominance in Test cricket.
Also known as the Gabba, the venue regularly hosts international cricket. It also serves as a multi-sports facility, with football and rugby matches played in winter.
Brisbane first hosted an international cricket match back in 1931. Since then, it has staged more than 150 matches across all formats.
Here you can look at the Brisbane Cricket Ground’s records and stats for Test, ODI, and T20I cricket.

The Gabba has been a balanced venue for Tests. It has seen some competitive red ball matches between Australia and visiting teams.
But more or less, Australia have an undisputed dominance in Brisbane, with 60 per cent of the Tests going their way. There have been a few Tests, though, in which visitors defeated them, with their recent losses against India and the West Indies being the most notable ones.
The venue offers enough for both batters and bowlers, which makes for an even contest. Fast bowlers, though, might make things difficult for batters with the extra bounce and pace.

The average first innings score shows the balanced nature of the surface for T20Is. There’s only one 200-plus total registered here back in 2006.
The recent T20Is played here have seen teams put up totals between 140 and 180. Teams, though, should aim for totals above 170.
