While Patidar is nowhere near India’s captaincy, he has had successful stints in the domestic setup. His IPL stint is, of course, the most remarkable one.
But it was in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) where Patidar first made headlines. He guided Madhya Pradesh to the 2024 SMAT final, though he couldn’t lift the title.
The loss didn’t dampen Patidar’s spirits, though. A few months later, he went on to script history, handing RCB their first IPL title in 2025.
