India’s domestic cricket action will resume in the 2025-26 season. And the Duleep Trophy 2025 will be the first major tournament to kick off the new season.
The first-class tournament will start on August 28, 2025. The Duleep Trophy will be back in its zonal format this season.
So teams representing six zones will feature in the red-ball tournament. The teams will play on a knockout basis, with two quarter-finals and semi-finals deciding the finalists. The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be four-day affairs, while the final will have five days.
South Zone and West Zone have been placed into the semi-finals, with the other four zonal teams set to clash in the quarter-final. The winners of the quarter-finals will then square off in the semi-finals, with two teams further proceeding into the final.
The final of the Duleep Trophy 2025 edition will take place between September 11 and 15.

Duleep Trophy 2025: Venues
The zonal first-class tournament will take place at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence Ground in Bengaluru. The main ground will host three matches, while Ground B will stage two games.
