Batters with Highest Strike Rates in T20I Cricket

The T20 format has changed the dynamics of cricket. It has installed the fearless batting approach in the teams and players, which has also influenced the other two formats. Statisticians, who used to talk more about batting averages, have shifted their focus to batting strike rates.

A batting average shows how many runs a batter score on average in an inning, while the strike rate shows how many runs, he scores on how many balls. With cricket evolving more, teams also prefer batters who can make more impact than a batter with good averages.

That is what we will discuss here in this article. Having a bunch of batters with good strike rates is always a luxury to have as a captain. Scoring quickly is not about hitting blindly, but it shows the skills of adapting to the conditions and using your strengths with pinpoint accuracy. Here we will talk about the top ten batters (for full-member nations) with the best strike rates in T20I cricket.

Star Australia all-rounder Cameron Green proved his worth as a test specialist. But he has been brilliant in T20I as well. He has been used as a floater in the team, and he has had an amazing start to his T20I career. Green has played 21 T20Is and scored 521 runs at a strike rate of 160.30, with six half-centuries.

    9. Rinku Singh (India) – 161.06

Indian star batter Rinku Singh got into the Indian side after his success in the Indian Premier League for KKR. The left-hander showed that he can be a good finisher if given a chance. And he has started his T20I career on a positive note as well. Rinku is a crucial part of the Indian T20I side because of his ability to finish off the game. He has scored 546 runs in 24 innings, at 42, with a strike rate of 161.06 and three half-centuries.

    8. Finn Allen (New Zealand) – 163.27

The tall right-hander is known for hitting big sixes and has already slammed two T20I centuries. He has scored 1285 runs in 52 innings at an average of 25.19 and a strike rate of 163.27 with five half-centuries.

    Andre Russell

Fans love to see how the modern-day batters hit sixes and fours. But Andre Russell used to do it a decade and a half ago. The power-hitting all-rounder is one of the most in-demand cricketers in franchise cricket. Though he has retired from international cricket, he was a great match-winner in this format. In his 86-game T20I career, he has scored 1122 runs at an average of 22 and a strike rate of 163.79, with a best of 71.

    Yashasvi Jaiswal

India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal has started his international career with a bang. He is regarded as one of the best upcoming stars who can perform across all formats. Jaiswal is not a regular member of the Indian T20I squad because of the stiff competition, but he has impressive numbers in this format. Jaiswal has represented India in 23 T20Is and scored 723 runs at an average of 36.15 and a strike rate of 164.31. He has also slammed 1 century and five half-centuries. Josh Inglis

Australian wicket-keeper Josh Inglis has made a name for himself because of his aggressive batting style across formats. He has already become one of the few Australian batters with a century across all formats. In T20Is, he has slammed two great hundreds already. Inglis has played 36 T20Is, scoring 878 runs with a 30.27 average and a 164.41 strike rate with a best of 110.

    4. Suryakumar Yadav (India) – 164.65

    Suryakumar Yadav

Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is probably the best T20I batter that India gave to the world. With his 360-degree batting style, he has dominated almost every bowler and opposition that he has played for. But the most commendable fact is that, unlike others, he has maintained a healthy strike rate despite playing almost double the matches of other batters on this list. Suryakumar has played 89 T20Is and scored 2669 runs at an average of 37.59 and a strike rate of 164.65, with four centuries and 21 half-centuries.

He has scored 1452 runs at a healthy average of 38.21 and a strike rate of 169.62.

    1. Abhishek Sharma (India) – 197.65

The high-risk cricket comes with high rewards, and India’s young opener Abhishek Sharma is a rare and perfect example of his. The breakthrough in his career was when he started to open for his IPL team, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and got into the Indian T20I side. Since then, he has been unstoppable. Before 20 games, he climbed to the top of the rankings in T20I. He is not among those who just go after the bowling blindly, but his high approach comes with a great deal of batsmanship, which is why he has a very rare number so far. Abhishek has a strike rate of 197.65 in 23 games with 844 runs, including two centuries and five half-centuries.
