Afghanistan’s stocks have been on the rise in world cricket these days. They have put up impressive performances to give some established teams a run for their own money.
And this wouldn’t have been possible without packed fixtures. The Afghans have been playing a lot of cricket these days, be it bilateral assignments or in ICC events.
It will be the same case in the 2025-26 season. Afghanistan will be in action all around the season.
They will engage in two away series and three home series in the lead-up to the Asia Cup 2025 and the T20 World Cup 2026.

Afghanistan vs West Indies (3 T20Is): January 2026
Afghanistan will start 2026 with a high-intensity T20I series against the West Indies. They will host the Caribbean side in the UAE.
Both teams will play in three T20I matches, which will give much-needed game time ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026.
Afghanistan vs New Zealand (3 T20Is): February 2026
On similar lines, Afghanistan will invite New Zealand for a T20I series. This series will also take place in the UAE.
The Afghan Atlans will do final checks before they set out for the big event schedule in India and Sri Lanka.

T20 World Cup 2026: February-March 2026
The Afghans have earned a direct entry into the T20 World Cup 2026 after reaching the semi-final in the 2024 iteration. So they will look to replicate the same in 2026 and maybe go a step ahead to win the title.
Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka (3 ODIs, 3 T20Is): March 2026
Afghanistan will close out the 2025-26 season with a limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. They will host the Lankan team in the UAE.
The two Asian teams will compete in three ODIs and three T20Is. These six white-ball games will take place in March 2026.
