The tensions between India and Pakistan rose after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. That led to things escalating between the two nations politically and also in cricket. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also threatened to boycott the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 featuring the two teams.

But it looks like things have started to settle down. The Indian board, which was said to be not attending the ACC meeting in Dhaka, took a U-turn, and all 25 member nations were available during the meeting.

The BCCI vice-president, Rajiv Shukla, represented India at the ACC meeting online. And now, some reports confirm that the BCCI, who are the official hosts of the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, are all set to host the multinational tournament in the United Arab Emirates.

According to the PTI report, a source stated, “The BCCI will host the Asia Cup in the UAE. India is likely to play all its matches in Dubai. There are still deliberations on scheduling.” Some other reports also confirm that the UAE came out as the front-runner to host the tournament.

Though any official announcement has yet to be made, the source confirmed that India might play their matches in Dubai and the whole tournament might shift to the UAE. That means the much-awaited game between India and Pakistan will also take place. The Asia Cup 2025 is expected to be played in September and is likely to end a week before the test series featuring India and West Indies.

8 teams have been confirmed that will take part in the tournament, and there are high chances that India and Pakistan will be slotted in the same group. Mohsin Naqvi, ACC chairman and PCB head, said, “We have had discussions with the BCCI, and there are a few issues that we will resolve shortly. We are all on the same page.”
