Everyone is well aware of Ravindra Jadeja’s all-round capabilities. He bowls tight spells with his left-arm spin. He then chips in with valuable knocks with the bat. And he is also a gun fielder.
All this clearly reflects in his career stats in international and domestic cricket. But his captaincy numbers aren’t impressive.
Jadeja had a brief leadership experience in the Indian Premier League (IPL), though it didn’t pan out well.
Here you can look at Ravindra Jadeja’s captaincy record in the IPL.

Before this, Jadeja hadn’t led a team at the senior level. And this inexperience played a part in his poor run as CSK’s skipper in IPL 2022.
The season started with four consecutive losses before a win in the fifth game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The next three games saw a win and two losses.
Eight matches into the season, Jadeja was ruled out of the season with an injury, cutting short his captaincy stint. After this, the all-rounder never led CSK again.

Ravindra Jadeja may be one of India’s best all-rounders, but he has never received a captaincy opportunity for the national team. He has not captained India in T20Is, ODIs, or Test matches. His only major leadership experience came in the IPL with Chennai Super Kings in 2022, but even that was a short stint due to poor results and an injury.
