South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt played one of the finest innings of her career, smashing 169 runs off just 143 balls to guide her team to a massive 125-run victory over England in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 semi-final at Guwahati.
Batting first, South Africa posted a commanding total of 319/7 in 50 overs. Wolvaardt dominated from the start, striking 20 fours and 4 sixes, and stitched a crucial 116-run opening stand with Tazmin Brits (45). Her timing, placement, and calmness under pressure once again showed why she’s among the best batters in world cricket.
In reply, England’s batting collapsed early as Marizanne Kapp (5/20) destroyed the top order. Nat Sciver-Brunt (64) and Alice Capsey (50) tried to rebuild, but England were bowled out for 194 in 42.3 overs.
