Cricket is spreading its wings in a football-dominated Northeast India. And Assam’s Guwahati is leading the way.
The city is home to the Barsapara Cricket Stadium. It is the biggest cricket stadium in the Northeast region, with a seating capacity of 40,000.
The venue, equipped with modern architecture, has hosted a few men’s and women’s white ball international matches. While Guwahati is yet to host a Test match, it has staged Ranji Trophy matches. Interestingly, Guwahati also serves as the second home venue for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.
That said, take a look at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium’s women’s ODI and T20I records and stats.

Guwahati has hosted only three women’s T20Is thus far, all in 2019. India played a three-match women’s T20I series against England, with the visitors winning all three games.
The toss plays a massive role here. And teams opting to bat first have a higher chance of winning as the pitch tends to slow down later.
