The city is home to the Barsapara Cricket Stadium. It is the biggest cricket stadium in the Northeast region, with a seating capacity of 40,000.
The venue, equipped with modern architecture, has hosted a few men’s and women’s white ball international matches. While Guwahati is yet to host a Test match, it has staged Ranji Trophy matches. Interestingly, Guwahati also serves as the second home venue for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.

Guwahati has hosted only three women’s T20Is thus far, all in 2019. India played a three-match women’s T20I series against England, with the visitors winning all three games.
